Aldi Plans Expansion in US
Business Section
According to a January 13, 2009 article in the Wall Street Journal, Aldi Inc. has plans to open at least 75 additional stores in the United States in 2009. As indicated in the Journal, the chain, which focuses on low prices, store brands and a no-frills facility, will modify that concept slightly for its U.S. expansion by expanding its food ranges, offering more fresh produce and upscale products, and altering the store design to offer a roomier, more expansive store.
